Acts 2:42

You might be wondering about the combination of "eating", "reading" and "praying" as master plan for disciples. You realize that the Great Call to Action (aka, the great commission) was an instruction to a) go into the world and make disciples; b) baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; and c) to teach them to obey the commandments that were given to them. Specifically, "He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself." (Luke 10:27). Actually, Yehoshua said that ALL of the commandments could be summed up by this single instruction. He was telling His disciples that we please God through our relationships!

So here is where it gets good ...
The template for making disciples, one meal at a time comes from Acts 2:42 ...
They (people)  committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles (reading the bible), the life together, the common meal (eating), and the prayers (praying together).
the Message
Imagine, the amount of commitment that it takes to spend one hour each for 52 continuous weeks. Our schedules will tempt us to postpone or ignore or simply forget. On the surface, letting someone treat you to a FREE meal each sounds like you struck gold. At the end of the day, it takes resolve and discipline to meet together.

I believe that the benefits of the Eat, Read & Pray experience will be a strengthening of your faith, a deepening of your relationship with God, and the establishment of a lifelong friend.
