Where is everyone?

According the Pew Research Center (2010) there are 2.2 Billion individuals who identify themselves as Christian throughout the world. On the surface, in the age of radical Islamic proselytization [ convert or die ], it appears comforting. Why should Christians be fearful? We comprise more than 1/4th of the total global population. But, take one look in the sanctuary of any given church on any given Sunday and you will be hard pressed to explain the statistics.

As I contemplated this discouraging reality of the shrinking church I received a revelation. I am not talking about a dream or mysterious vision - I am talking about an inspired epiphany. Since I believe in God, I want to quickly attribute the revelation to the Holy Spirit or Ruach HaChodesh. This is really simple ...

God put on skin and was born of a virgin named Mary. His parents called Him Yehoshua/Jesus which means "God is our salvation." Yehoshua/Jesus was crucified and arose from the dead. Now, this is the epiphany - WE, you and I and every other believer, were given just ONE call to action. It all comes back to this ONE critical instruction. You can read this in any translation, it is the same.
Matthew 28:19
Go to every part of the world making disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. Instruct them to obey the commandments that I gave you.
As a believer, we are instructed to initiate relationships and disciple others. Even more important, we must be able to teach disciples how to disciple others. Some he gave to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some to be preachers and teachers. (Ephesians 4:11). Where is the identification of disciples? This is what I was thinking!

God expects that each of us will be both a disciple and a discipler! This is exactly how God's will can be done on earth just as it is in heaven.
